Police check results will remain on our file for 12 months from issuing for auditing and assurance purposes. Your file will be removed from our secure electronic storage after 12 months. After this time, we will not be able to retrieve your police check result.

Yes you can get a police check, provided you have 4 types of acceptable ID and you have parental consent.
When a police check application is submitted for processing, your name and date of birth are run against a central database to find any potential matches throughout Australia with people who have police information. For example, if a record of a person with a name and date-of-birth similar to yours, is found in the police check database, your check would be referred to a Police Officer for verification and manual processing.
Most police check results are released within 24 hours. Some police check require additional processing by the Police, which can take up to 15 business days.
The type of police check you choose will depend on the kind of work you will be performing.
An employee check is required for paid work, where you are an employee, contractor, staff member or receive any other entitlements associated with your role or position.
A volunteer check is required for unpaid work, student placement or work experience.
A maximum of 100 characters are accepted in each of the three purpose fields of your police check. The purpose section is split into three fields:
- position title, occupation, volunteer role or entitlement being sought.
- proposed place of work (name of organisation or type of workplace or industry).
- location of the role (town and state/territory)
Acronyms must not be used – except for the state/territory.
Example 1: Case worker, Youth Housing Facilities, Canberra, ACT.

You may require a police check when working with vulnerable people. Vulnerable people include the elderly, children, or people with disabilities. There are three types of contact you may have with vulnerable people:
- Supervised contact: direct or indirect contact with children, or vulnerable groups, with supervision by another person.
- Unsupervised contact: direct or indirect contact with children, or vulnerable groups, without supervision by another person.
- No contact: no direct or indirect contact with children or vulnerable groups.
Your police check certificate will include the following Personal Information:
- All names you have been known by
- Address
- Date of birth
- Any disclosable court outcomes (DCO) and criminal history (including pending charges) relevant to the purpose of the police check.

Your name and date of birth across your identity documents need to match what has been entered on the application form. If your maiden or previous name does not match, you will need to provide change of name documentation, such as a marriage certificate.
To successfully complete your Proof of Identity you will need to provide a total of four (4) different forms of ID that includes:
- One (1) Commencement of ID Document.
- One (1) Primary Use in Community Document; and
- Two (2) Secondary Use in Community Documents.
Please ensure that by providing the 4 types of ID we can verify:
- Your full name.
- Your Date of Birth; and
- A photo that needs to be contained on at least one of the ID you have provided.
All ID documents must be originals, not copies, and not expired.

Once the police check has been processed, we are unable to edit your application or provide a refund. CV Screen will use only the information you provide on the application form to prepare your police check.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the information provided to us on your application form is correct and up to date.
